I was with the 165th Transportation Company (ADS) at Bien Hoa and Phu Loi in 1970. We repaired helicopters for units in III Corps. I have long thought about returning to see this beautiful country and would love to help out if you ever have a project near the Saigon or Bien Hoa area.

USMC Retired @ 60% - Served '66 to '89
RVN Dec '69 - Nov '70
VMA(AW)-225, VMA(AW)-242

Raised in Europe, North Africa & the Middle East. Life in the Marine Corps was primarily in the Pacific. Traveled all my life but will never forget my days in the Corps. Not all roses but pretty fine over all. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Spent 9 years in Europe w/ DoD since retiring. Would I do it all over?? Yep!

I just returned from Vietnam- I lost my husband fifteen months ago. It was his wish to go back to Vietnam where he was stationed. For all those you want to go back-now is the time because there is almost all gone now where ever you were stationed. You would never know that the country was at war one time. The people were very nice and made me most welcome. The majority of the people are forty years and under, and have no concept what their country was like. I traveleved with a Vetran's Group. So, if you have thoughts of going back, now is the time.
Sincerely,
Sara Bland

I landed in vietnam, young eager and full of ideas. I left old,so very old ... tired and much wiser.we marched a thousand miles, waded in hundreds of rice paddies ,and saw things no man should see..we have killed ,and in turn been killed. yet those of us who survive today know one thing above all...we did our duty for love of country.

I served at Tan Son Nhut on two tours with the 45th TRS, Feb 66-May 67, and May69-Nov 70.
Regardless of what some think, I know we did what we needed to do, we did it as well as we could considering the obsticals we faced.
Thanks to all who served before, with,,and after me.
And let us not ever forget those who gave it all so we could survive.
There is no greater kinship and brother/sisterhood than laying ones life on the line for others in battle.
May God always bless us all.
