His Battalion would earn the Moniker, The Walking Dead". After surviving his Vietnam tour and completing his six-year enlistment in the USMC Bob felt a longing to go back and do something constructive for the people of Vietnam. Bob eventually returned to Vietnam in 1989 and was part of the formation of a Vietnam veterans group that sought to do humanitarian work in the country that they had served so valiantly in during the war. Since 1989 Bob has returned to Vietnam twenty-five times building medical clinics and conducting medical teams as part of Vets With A Mission (VWAM) a Christian humanitarian organization founded in 1989 that continues to operate in Vietnam today bringing medical services and training to the villages in the more rural areas of Vietnam.
