I read with interest your segment on Operation Union in the Que Son valley which started April 21, 1967. I know, because I was the company commander of Mike Company, the first unit of 3/1 to be helicoptered in to assist Fox Company of 2/1. The written account is fiction and that is the nicest thing I can say about it. For verification please read the Road of 10,000 Pains by Otto Lerack, the only true account that I know of or reach Gene Deegan was the CO of Fox.
