I was at Bien Hoa during 67-68 TET of Jan. 30. Was there to build a J-85 engine overhaul depot. Worked with GE employee Rich Alexander. All civilian personnel were evacuated during the days following the initial attack. All work on the depot came to a halt and our hangar took a direct hit from a rocket or mortar. I particularly remember the sapping of the Long bien ammo dump. It looked like an A-bomb. The concussion nearly knocked me off the f-100 revetment I was on. The 3rd SP SAT team lead by Sgt. Piazza did an awesome job of aiding in the defense of Bunker 10. We lost our Engine Test Cell facility to grenade damage clearing VC sappers from it. I would like to hear from anyone from Team 3 who was there at that time. Anyone remember the Red Headed Stripper from Australia? If I remember right the SP assigned to watch over her welfare during the show was Sgt. Piazza.
