Major, Medical Corps, Chief of Surgery, 24th Evac at Long Binh May68-69. About 1,800 of our men were operated on by me during that incredibly busy year at our place. "If you get to the 24th, we will get you home".
Tremendous website, historical accuracy suberb. My lst glimpse of truth was in reading "Bright Shining Lie" by Neil Sheehan which makes it clear that we were fighting Ho Chi Minh, who, communist or not, was essentially the George Washington of Viet Nam and only wanted unification of the land that for 600+ years had been ruled by foreigners. Friends like Doug Young of VWAM tell me today's VN is a special place and they have finally achieved some peace.
