My name is Beatrice and I am trying to find anyone who may have known my brother while he served as a Marine (grunt?) in Vietnam. His name was John Arthur, he was actually killed in Los Angeles, not too long after returning from Vietnam. Initially when he was sent over he was what i would consider "ground fodder" and before he left for home he was piecing bodies together for body bags. Any and all information is much appreciated. All I know is he trained at MCRD and left from Camp Pendleton. My family would not discuss it and died before I could question anyone further. I want to know who may have spoken to him and what he may have been like. I know my father brutally abused him prior to forcing him to join the Marines and serve in Vietnam so perhaps he wasn't the friendliest of people? I wish to know more. Thanks muchly, Beatrice [email protected]
