I served with the Navy Civic Action Program in DaNang (Naval Support Activity & Naval Support Activity) from April 1969 to November 1970. Also a member of the Navy CAP unit for a short time. I was a SK3 in-charge of procuring all the supplies and services needed for over 100 Civic Action Projects, 85 men and 3 funds. Most of us lived in VAT Teams (Village Assistance Teams ) in and around the DaNang area with the civilian population. They usually were manned by 3 or more men and on some teams we also had a corpsman and surgical capabilities. It was probably the most dramatic, exciting and life changing experience I have ever been thru.
