be nice to hear from someone at phu bai 66-67..3/3 motor t ...we made many trips up hwy 1 ...through dong ha ..camp carroll..quang tri...a lot of thoughts.. the day the bridge was blown up out side of hue..the sea bees put a temp bridge of pontoon boats together to make a bridge for the deuce and halves to cross...up we would go to the army 155 position by a shau valley..we would take loads of shells and brass/powder to them... to lob into to the valley..we didnt know it was of no use to do so...the nva headed down to hue anyway...we went into wall city for 1 hour one day..a short r&r ...we were told to take one mag/rifle..it was pretty secure at that time..the one thing i do remember was the large hole in the wall to rear of the city...the viet cong blew open the wall to make a attack one evening..we went on a lot of small operations around phu bai...the one i remember was golden flesse..it was a short run into the villages just around phu bai...to support the cac units assigned to the villages.. if they came under attack during the night..just some thoughts.. if you remember some of these drop me a line...welcome home..
