A correction & addition to 1st posting; my hometown at time of enlistment was Oceanside, Ca. Yeah yeah...I was a Marine Brat of a retired Marine. I joined the Seabees under their "Direct Procurement Petty Officer" program, aka "Instant Petty Officer." I had considered joining the Marines, but my dad, SSGT. Wendell Blodgett USMC Ret.
