Entered the USMC on Mar. 29, 1966 Parris Island Platooon 386. ITR Camp Lejune then home for 30 days. Then to Camp Pendelton for training as a wireman (pole climber). Orders after graduation to jungle training school same base. Landed at the Naval air base in Chu Lai, Vietnam Oct. 13th, 1966. Assigned to Comm. Co., Headquarters Batallion, 1st Marine Division. Don't remember how long I was there but from there we were moved north of Da nang Air Base to a village called Da San, Hill 244. Hill 327 was the commissary and Px. I was about a half hour or so from Red Beach. Left Vietnam Nov. 30, 1967.
