I arrived in VietNam in May1967 at Bien Hoa Airbase.I processed in at the 90th Replacement Co. at Long Binh.I was assigned to the 624th Sup and Svc co.class1 platoon, which later transfered to the 229th Sup &Svc Co.[I spent every other night on 3rd Ord.Bn.ammo dump, while at Long Binh,on guard duty.In Oct.I got orders to go on FSA,as part of Task Force Falls,TDY 1st calvary division,Operation Wallowa in ICTZ.Our staging area was at Chulai convoyed from there through Tam Ky,to LZ Baldy/Hill63,20 miles south of Danang. After leaving hill63,I went on LSA to Phouc Vinh to support the 3rd Bde 101st Abn.Division.This is where I was at during Tet 1968.Four days before I was in Saigon comming back from R&R in Hong Kong, through camp alpha at Tan Son Nhout. The night the Tet offences started I was at Laike with a medical trying to get back to my unit at Phouc Vinh.I left Viet Nam in May1968.I went to Panama for six months, and then back to VietNam from Jan.to Aug.1969.But my 1st tour has allways been the one that impressed me the most.If anybody recognizes any thing that I wrote about email me,we might know each other.
