I was in-country from January 1971 to October 1972. First six months assigned to HDQ, 3/17 Air Cav - Phu Loi, then with Red Carpet at Long Bien and for the last nine months of my tour I was assigned to the CORDS HDQ, Bien Hoa, as Pilot for Colonel Webb, Senior Military Advisor for III Corps. I would welcome communication from anyone who happened to be in III Corps during the same time frame. Perhaps our paths have crossed. I have not returned to RVN since then but I do plan to do so sometime in the very near future... not so much to visit a particular battle area but to view the region as a whole. I am interested to see how the people are living now, how much the landscape has changed and to re-experience the beauty of this region. If anyone has been back to this area recently I would appreciate hearing about your trip and what your observations were. To our memories we owe it to ourselves, never to forget how important this period in our life was. Ranger 6 out.
