Dear Veteran,

[email protected] is looking for someone who can verify the day and or the month the Cantho air field was over ran and the ammo dump and a few gunships were blown up and a few soldiers were killed.
Can anyone remember the mess hall was the target of some mortar rounds that only hit some steel storage containers behind the mess hall?
There was a time, when Eakin compound was hit with some mortar rounds that blew up communication lines and the mess hall. The only place that served the best WESTERN OMELET in the world!!
I also remember the soccer field next to the compound. The most upseting feeling watching body bags being thrown out of helicopters. They were not landing, they were hovering about 30 feet throwing them out. The bags seemed to have a little bounce to them.
I served in the 1st signal briade, CO. A 52nd Signal Battaiion. From June 1969 to Feb. 28 1970
I can?t remember the dates. Thank you if you can help.
THANK YOU FOR SERVING!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,
Joseph M. Huska
