Went toVietnam in April 1968 to April 1969.Left from FT. Bragg N.C , with 5th btn 42nd Arty to California .We were put on a ship (USS Barrett) and floated to Nam,an agonizing story in its own.Arrived at Cameron Bay made beachhead and was transported to BearCat,our first base camp, Saw Xuan Loc,Dian,Bein Luc,Long Bien,Bien Hoa and a lot of places I cant rember.Was transferd to 7th btn 8th arty .Went toa firebase in the middle of a ricepaddy south of Siagon in the delta at the forks of three rivers. I think it was called Camp Carroll or Camp Charlie .If anyone rembers me or where that was I would like to hear from you.Went over with a battallion came back with a few Welcome Home!!!!
