I was at Marble Mt. MAG-16 ..4-1968 to 2-1969 (HMM 361 Then with H&MS-16..lots of time with Zulu company..perimeter guard and some patrols)..
When my mother passed away in 1993..my dad gave me some of the letters I wrote home from my stint in the Marine Corps. Including from Vietnam...I took them to my DAV and they made copies sent them in as stressors..
I had rocket/mortar attack dates, guys I knew who were killed or wounded..(Villalobos, Bustos, and a kid named Plamer..others) I also had times when I was on perimeter guard and received sniper fire....
I going show dates and incidents that I have from letters I wrote home. Pass them on if you want..good luck bros.
May 4 1968 rocket/mortar attack..about 1 hour long

May 19 1968 rocket/mortar attack..on perimeter guard..sniper fire
May 23 1968 F4 Phamthon crashed near Mag-16 .one pilot parachuted to our flight line...myself and another marine were first to pilot. He had wounds on leg..possible broken..and other wounds on body..other pilot parachutes out at sea..was rescued by our helicopters..ok

July 3 1968 rocket/mortar attack,,3 kia's including my bro Cpl Greg Bustos
July 26 1968 rocket/mortar attack 10pm
July 27 1968 rocket/mortar attack 3am
Aug 23 1968 Marine unit on top of MArble Mt..recoiless 106's were overrun..we were called to react platoon to beefup north end of base...stayed ther until noon next day..
Sept 5 1968 We were hit by a strong typhoon...
Nov 20 1968 rocket/mortat attack..several wounded
