. I was a Dustoff Crew Chief and flew out of Dong Tam. I was also in volved in several major battles during my tour. The most note able was 19 Jun 67 when 4th Bn got chewed up at Rach Nui. We got the call and there were 39 KIA at that time, by the time we got there it only got worse. We Made our approach and all of a sudden our Hydrolics went out an our electrical system got all screwed up. Unfortunately we never got to do a pick up and I have felt so bad about that since then. We knew if we landed that the ship would most likely blow up causeing more death and distruction.
