I served with 1st Battallion 44th Artillery which was attached to the 108th Artillery Group. Headquarters was in Dong Ha. I was with D Battery
in Phu Bai 1968. Dusters and Quad 50's. Our unit
was involved with the battle for Hue during the Tet
Offensive. I was a Battery Clerk for HQ. I have been reviewing this site for possible contact with someone I served with. I visited the Vietnam Memorial a few years ago and found two names of
soldiers I knew who were killed during the war. I am impressed with so many students studying this war. Nice to know we are not completely forgotten.
Thanks to everyone who thanked me. I never thought of myself as a hero. Welcome Home.
