I was fortunate went on Advance Infantry when the 4th left Ft. Lewis. It was on a prop jet. Took forever to make it to Nam. There were I beleive 10 of us on this plane. We were taken to the 25th Div. outside Pleiku. Next move I beleive the following day to the Dragon Mountain. We called it Titty Mountain ( looked like one). The 1st Cav gave us suppot. We were all alone. For along while I share a shelter half with a sargent Coleman. When the rest of the brigade arrived things got a little better. We ate C Rations for God I don't know how long. Trying to out side with monsoon, the ration turned into soup. My first patrol was with Lt. Enari it was his first also. Great man. On patrol I was the machine gunnist. Wow tooting the M60 so heavy. Lots more to chat about but don't want to bore all. Never regretted serving my country. Support our troops. Oh by the way when there was the 10 of on the mountain saw for the first time Mountainards. Women no tops and men only loin cloths. Was very confused LOL.
