I was in Viet Nam from February 1968 through March 1969, with C/1/5 1st Marine Division. Then I was the CAP Commander with CAP 142 and 146 through October 1969. With the CAP Units I had the opportunity to live with the locals and discovered a different view then I had with the Grunts. I saw how hard they worked each day just to survive and I saw them as people.
