Landed at DaNang May 67 was at ASP-1 when compound was at the top of the hill. Moved into new basecamp down by the Brig. Was there for the "Big Bang" when the dump blew. Took out most of hill 327. Spent a lot of time sleeping at Red Beach and 3rd Tank Battalion. Moved alot of bad ammo to demo hill after that. Primary MOS 2311. X-mas present for 1967 was AK round through my thigh building ASP-2 by Happy Valley. Have lots of good memories from that time, but some bad ones to. Lost some people in our mine field sneaking back from the vill. Would like to hear from some of the guys from back then if they are still kicking. Are you out there Jimmy Miller, Ray Hartzell, Jim Couch, Bobo ? Total time in country was May 67 to Oct. 69. Was part of first pullout of 3rd Marine Div. Sure was a long boat ride home. Proud to have served with each and everyone of you. Semper Fi !!!
