I was with a group of guys that left Ft Lewis, Wa 3 Jul 67.We flew to San Diego, Ca. We left Ca. (4 Jul 67) on the US Gen John Pope or something like that. It was about three hundred (300) of us that had been togother since Ft Polk (Tiger Land), La (Disease ville). When we got to Nam half of us went to Co D 1/16th Ranger Bn and Co D 2/28th Ranger Bn at Lai Khe, Vietnam 4 Jul 67 - 4 Jul 68. 2/28th had hard time. Looking for anyone who was with us at Ft Lewis (02 Jun 67 - 3 Jul 67) or with Co D's in Lai Khe. We helped to make new companies with season veterans. I remeber that they were great teachers. Would love to hear from anyone that served with these companies.
