Looking for anyone who might know where the heck the 134th Med. Det. was in I Corps 1970-71?
I was a CE on a slick named GUNKY with C Troop 2/17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st ABN DIV
I was grounded from flying for 72 hours on July 26, 1971 and released to fly again on July 29, 1971.
1st officer on july 26th was CPT. STEPHEN E BRAUN COMMANDING
ON THE 29TH IT WAS A CPT, ALAN VAN DYKE
FLIGHT SURGEON.
I WORKED ALOT WITH L. CO. 75TH RANGERS UP ON CAMP EAGLE AND I WAS BASED ON NORTH PHU BAI..WE WERE KNOWN AS THE "CONDORS" AND HAD A SOLID WIDE BLUE STRIPE ON OUR TAIL BOOM.
MY SLICK WAS ALMOST A BLACK IN COLOR THE ONLY ONE IN I CORPS AS I NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ONE..I WAS ON LZ SALLY 1 NIGHT AND THEN WE TRANSFERRED DOWN TO NORTH PHU BAI AND STAYED THERE..DID 22 MONTHS I THINK, MAYBE 21 (CRS)
NICE SITE AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE..
CONDOR 700 AKA "COWBOY"
