My first assignment in Vietnam was with Gulf Co.
2/3, and I worked out of the Rockpile until the
first troop withdrawal. I was then assiged to Mike
Co. 3/1, on Hill 55. I worked operations Virginia Ridge and Pipestone Canyon. After being promoted to E-5, I served as a CAG Unit Leader
of 1/2 Marines and 1/2 ARVNS. We worked the
various villages around Hill 55.
