I served in the 1876th Communications Squadron at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, RVN as an Air Force 306X0 Crypto Maint type from May 1969 thru May 1970. Worked out of the main Crypto Shop at the PAFCO Relay in Bldg 1134 most of the tour. I started out working in PIACCS Tech Control at first, then went to the main shop. I also manned the one man shop in Bldg 537. Worked all over base, 7th AF Hq, Bldg 500, Room 205, 7th AF Comm Center, 7th AFCP CC, MAC ALCC, MACV, some vans on the flight line, a semi inside the 500 area, TAC TUOC, several flying units & places that I have just forgotten the names of. We even maintained some equipment at Saigon Navy and 10th District OSI. off base. Lived in Bldg 867 Upper (near the in-country terminal. R&R'ed in Sydney, leave in Bangkok. Long ago & far away. I got out after 4, then joined the Air National Guard on the try one year program for ex-AFers, went back in & served until I retired in 1989.
