I served with the 156th HEM Co. from Jul '68 to Oct '70. We shared our base camp with the 633rd CC&S Co. We had a junk yard on one side of camp & a dump on the other side. Marble Mt. was about 300 yds. to our South, Da Nang was a few miles North of us, South China Sea was about 300 yds. to our East, with the POW camp in-between us, Villages and the River to our West. Sometime in the Spring or Summer of '70, we moved our base camp a few miles North to an old Sea-Bees camp. We loved our trips up to Marble Mt. on our time off. It was full of caves and had a Budust Temple on the top of it. The VC came off of the mountain on TET of '69, they went through the Special Force's camp at the base of the mountain and tried to break out their freinds at the POW camp, they failed!! Anyone who remembers this can contact me. Welcome home to all and God Bless & RIP to those who didn't.
