I am a writer doing research for the past 15 months on a book about my friend, A1C Kenneth E. Baker Jr., Weather Observer, 30WS, Det 13. He was killed by a direct hit from a 75mm recoilless rifle shell in the weather cab of the control tower at Binh Thuy AFB, South Vietnam on March 22, 1968. This book is for his family. I am searching for members of the AF units who were at Binh Thuy that night and directly involved.

A.)1880th Comm Sq Air Traffic Controllers:
MSgt Billy Gentry
MSgt John Messenger
TSgt Richard "Dick" Tucker
TSgt "Woody" Wood

B.) After the attack, SSgt Dave "Rosie" Rosenbeck of the 632nd CSG Fire Dept next to the tower sent three firemen up to the cab to retrieve Kenny. He does not remember their names. I am looking for any and all members of 632nd CSG Fire Dept at Binh Thuy March 22, 1968; either the three firemen themselves, or those who know who they were.

If anyone reading this has any information whatsoever on the men listed above, or where I can get it, PLEASE contact me asap at the email address listed here. I would be most appreciative, as would the Baker family. My heartfelt thanks to VWAM for posting this notice.
