Marine Corps Test Unit 1, 3rd Marine Corps Provisional Atomic Exercise Brigade (Atomic Veteran,
Operation Teapot)
U.S. Marine Corps, 3rd Bn., 9th Marines,FMFPAC
U.S. Army Vietnam/Ist Logistical Command, 506th S&S Company.
To all Nam Vets, Combatants and Non-Combatants, I appreciate and thank you for the sacrifices you made.
It has been said that rear support elements sat around drinking beer and playing cards. To some extent this might be true of a few, but personnally, I am extremely proud of how I performed my duties. I was a Logistics NCO and did what was expected of me. The Ist Logistical Command was supplying the Armed Forces with 700,000 tons of supplies and equipment a month. I particular unit comes to mind, the 109th Quartermaster Company (Air Delivery). This company was the Lifeline to Khe Sanh. A writer by the name of Peter Brush wrote about this unit. As a QM NCO, I am proud to have been a member of the Quartermaster Corp.
In another note, The United States Marine Corps recently celebrated our 237th Anniversary. Semper Fi to all my Marine Brothers and God Bless our Armed Forces.
