Served with the 1st Air Cavalry Division July 1970 - June 1971, originally out of Phuoc Vinh in III Corps and later out of Da Nang. Assignments ranged from infantry platoon leader to base security officer. Although I was affiliated with USARV I often yearned to serve with MACV so I could learn the language and help the people. As a very young Christian, I could say that it was in Vietnam that God first touched my heart to be a missionary.
