Greetings gents. I worked a k9 team in Vietnam in 1971. My wife works with a young lady whose dad
was KIA 2/17/68. She was 2 months old back in the states when her dad died. Her dad was James T. Gordon. He was with Charlie Co., 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. He died on an operation in the vicinity of Thua Thien . He left behind his wife also and 5 sisters and 2 brothers. His daughter would like to know more about her dad from any friends that he served with. If you served with him and could help e-mail me. Pictures would be great...Cpl..James T. Gordon was from Englewood, NJ. and was 21 years old. Thank you in advance

I'm a Canadian who came to this area while on a Vietnam tour last winter (Feb, 2006). I'm an amateur photojournalist & took many photos while on the tour. I was researching background material for my photo journal featuring the Marble Mountains area when I stumbled onto your wonderful web site. I will pass it on to an American marine pal who served in this area in the 70s.

This post is a correction to one currently(6/11/06) in Folder #79 w/outdated contact data: I was assigned to the 86th Sig Bn HHq Co, Cu Chi in January of 1970 and worked for a time as a clerk-typist under Lt Col William Renner and Sgt Mike Tarin, legal clerk. The 86th had sites in Tay Ninh, My Tho and Ben Tre. In April I was ordered to the 10th Sig Co(?), My Tho for a week to relearn my 05C20 MOS before a reassignment to the 535th Sig Co, Ben Tre's small Signal Site there.
On August 18, I was injured returning from Saigon, after the last Ferry crossing between My Tho and Ben Tre within a few miles of Ben Tre.
I don't know what happened to me, to the Vietnamese Driver or a Mr Baker, a civilian in his vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser assigned to COORDS, a US Aid Agency.

A couple of weeks before Thankgiving '70, a coma broke and a recovery at Beach Pavillion of Ft Sam Houston, San Antonio was continued.
I would enjoy receiving E-mail from any who might remember the 86th Sig Bn in Cu Chi, the various sites we manned and an interesting CSgtMaj, who kept us on our toes in Hdqters Co; Ed Boucher, the Col's driver and a fellow in Ben Tre, Scotty, from Sandusky, Ohio.

I am searching for my friend "Frenchie". He was an SP
at Danang Vietnam 1971-1972. I only knew his nickname. He was from the Chicago Area, home town not known. He guarded the towers and sometimes the bomb dump. He was present when SP accidently shot himself playing cards in Hootch. If anyone knows of him please email me. Thanks
