I have visited this site before. I served with 3Bn1stMarines in 1967 and we were based adjacent to Nui Kim Son. Unless I'm badly mistaken your picture of a "105 " recoilless less rifle should read 106. It was a 106 millimeter recoilless I think. Its been a long time someone help me out. Also I have just read about persecution of Christians in Viet Nam at a website named www.vom.com.au What does your organization know about this??

Great site. I was just a little guy at Clark Air Base from '66-'68 but I can remember like it was yesterday standing on the flight line with dad, if he wasn't in Vietnam, watching the F-4's, loaded for bear taking off in full after-burner, headed for danger in some far-away land.....the NORTH, I'm sure. I also remember walking thru the wards at the hospital at Clark with my mom, who was a nurses aid and talking and visiting with some of the wounded troops. This has left a deep impression on me, even to this day, and I find it very hard to sometimes look at things like your web-site or watch movies like "We were soldiers" and not cry like a baby at the shameful waste of human lives...our lives, our fathers and brothers and sisters......It will never leave me, the pain and agony, standing at the base terminal at Clark, or Norton, or Travis, watching my father walk away from us, not knowing if I'd ever see him again....My father did 5 tours in-country and 2 in Thailand. Anyway, enough bitching about my past. Felt good to vent. Thanks for being there and thanks to ALL of you, men, women, black, white, brown, yellow, purple, whatever color or creed you my be.....THANk YOU....for your honor and duty to my country.....You are ALL in my prayers, daily. David.

You are doing some great work over in Nam. I was with the 3rd Boat Group based out of DaNang and we ran ops throughout I-Corps. Some of the best memories that I have from over there are associated with some civic action support missions we undertook to repair some village water systems to fixing up some playground equipment at some local schools. Best wishes to you with your new projects.

Amazing. Spent 5 months on top of Marble moutain with 106's of H&S weapons 2/1 sept to jan 68-69 I was a corpsman. treated many of the kids in Nui KIm Son. Nice to see a clinic there . Had a friend with 9th marines another corpsman with 2/9 won a Bronze star but died at 53 . so I'm glad again. The village looks bigger now. it was small in 68 and we didin't help by blowing it up or at laest parts of from time to time. They say that the NVA had a hospital in the moutain next to green beannies camp. I'd believe it. They had a good bar there and the only tomato i ever saw in nam i had in their chow hall. I could tell more stories but well you know.
