I was First Sgt for 366AMS, at Danang, Sep69-70. I also flew 35 missions with the 9th SOS, that did Psychological Warefare in the I Corp area. I recall a mission one night in early 1970 at a place called the Rock Pile, just south of the DMZ. We were flying in a C-47, Goonie Bird, and playing a tape called the Vietanmise Furneral Music tape. Our mission was to follow a gun ship in after they unloaded on the NVA at the Rock Pile. I recall watching the red tracers going one way and the blue tracers going the other way. When we started playing the Furneral Music tape, both the red stuff and the blue stuff started coming up at us!!!. We followed several gun ships over the Rock Pile until almost day break. We returned to Danang, just as the sun was coming up. That night at Danang, They had a USO show with Bob Hope and Frances Langford. The Music was great!! and sure raised my spirts. I met Frances Langford in Jensen Beach, Fl a year before she passed away and told her how much better her music was to our furneral music. I also thanked her for putting her life on the line by coming to Rocket City, Danang to do her USO show for the troops. By the way is there anyone out there that knows the official name for the Furneral Music tape?

I am wondering if anyone remembers Robert Simmons. He was a Marine in the Vietnam War and is also my father. I am trying to find information about what infantry he served. I want to make a shadow box for him for Christmas. He served in the late 1960's.

A very proud Marine's daughter,
Shirra

My brother, Terry Loucks, died last year of an enlarged heart. He never told anyone in the family, until the end, that he was a member of the Black Cats in Vietnam. I was wondering if any one knew him while he was over there and could tell me a little about his experiences.
