Was with the 63rd Trans Co (5 ton trks) in Wunder Beach (down the road from LZ Hardcore, 1sr Cav country) (& previously from Da Nang for a very short spell) from 3/'68- 6/'68 making runs to Dong Ha, Khe Sahn, Hue (Camp Eagle, home of the 101st Airborne) Camp Evans, LZ Judy, LZ Sharon (1st Cav), Quang Tri and other exotic areas that escape me at the moment. I shipped out for Duc Pho (LZ Bronco) to a platoon of the 63rd Trans Co 5 ton trks (Devil's Disciples) 6/'68-3/69 under the leadership of E-7 "Daddy Deeds". Also had a squad of medium tractor/tankers (JP-4 haulers) assigned to us made up of reservists from the Schenectady / Albany area of New York. Our main run was from Duc Pho to an island called Sa Huynh (run by the U.S. Navy) and return, but made runs to Qui Nhon, Bong Son and Chu Lai to name a few. Remember Charles (Chuck) La Pietra (California Boy), Mike Schotter (The Peace Wagon), McComas (from West "By God" Virginia), E-5 John Doyle (squad leader from New York), Martinez (gunjeep machine gunner from Texas), E-5 Padilla (from California), Chapman, Bingham, Archaleta and numerous others. Contact me guys! Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans! Jim (The Piece Wagon)

Imtrying to find information about my dad. He was a seargent during the Vietnam war. He passed away 2years ago.He never really talked about it. My brother and sisters and I want to now if there is anyone out there who could tell us anything about him. We really were not told alot, he would never talk much about it but when he did he was very emotional about it. We were not very close with our father until he got really sick and we want to know anything we can about him so we can share it with our children. When they our old enough to understand. He was stationed in Fort Bragg North Carlina before he went to Vietnam .

I was sent to Camp Tien Sha to wait for the USS Princeton LPH5 to get close enough to fly to. I am having health problems and the VA says they can't find records of my being on ground. Does anyone remember a sailor being in Tien Sha in mid April of 67? This is a long shot, I know, but I am seeking help to prove I was there.
