Served with the 37th Signal Bn in DaNang from 05/68 to 05/69.
Returned twice as a tourist once in 1999 and again in 2002. Really enjoyed my stay both times beautiful country and friendly people.

I worked and lived on top of Monkey Mountain in the shadows of the radar domes. In fact, I lived in the basement of the domes after a typhoon destroyed our hootch. I was with the 366th SPS, a security police detachment out of DaNang during July 70-August 71. Contact me for any reason, I'll answer you back.

I'm looking for anyone who remembers L/Cpl John Klabunde, 2/9 Vietnam, KIA Sept 6, 1967, at Con Thien. I was his girlfriend at the time and anything I can learn about his time in Vietnam would be greatly appreciated....I love the USMC!!!

In Loving Memory of L/Cpl John Paul Klabunde, Echo Co., 2/9, Third Div.One month after his 21st birthday he was killed in action in Con Thien while attempting to rescue others who were pinned down. I miss him to this day.

It was 2 or 3 Black Marines. My understanding is that they worked in the mess hall. One was a SSGT, Corporal and I think L/Cpl. They had twelve grenades buried in the sand by the center pallets. 61 or 62 were injured, 17 were EVAC ed to Japan. They were arrested by the MP's. I was there and helped with the search and Medivacs.

I was stationed at Schofield Baracks Hawaii all of 1967.The training there was great. I was with A company 4/3rd 11th LIB. Left for Vietnam by ship December 1967 USS Gordon. Wounded March 22 1968 by booby traped buncker. To all my brothers Welcome Home. Goose
