This is one of the most informative sites about the war I have found. I was looking for a news paper article for my nephews book report and became interested in the site myself. People that have family members at war now should view this site. I think it will help them better understand the complex problem they will face.

I was a sergeant with the 1/327th "A" Alpha Company, the "E" Echo company 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from January 1970 to October 1970 when I stepped on a landmine and lost both of my legs below the knee. I was an NCO-in-charge of a sniper team then a reconnaissance team. I spent a year at Valley Forge Army Medical Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. This is where Senator Kerry and Hanoi Jane Fonda dropped off leaflets with town’s people saying that if they were a South Vietnam hamlet US troops would rape their daughters and kill them.
I would like to say thank you to the dust off helicopter pilot who risked his life and those of his crew to extract me from the jungle and the doctors, nurses and army corpsman who put me back together again and the American people and Veterans Administration who have provided me with all kinds of help and assistance in keeping me going and providing me the opportunity to rebuild my life to lead a successful and productive life.
Finally I’d like to thank Roger Brumbalow who saved my life and got me on the helicopter and my wife Nancy who stood by me for 35 years through thick and thin and God who was always their for me.
