Served w/ 517MI, 1/5, Quang Tri, 9/69-11/70. Also attached to Phuong Hoa (Phoenix) in village of Gio Linh, and flew as an AO in bird-dogs last 5 mos. Beautiful countryside; hated to call in '52's, jet strikes, arty, naval gunfire, the likes. Worse was talking to LRP's who whispered 'cuz they were next to large #s of NVA, or watching from above as tanks hit mines while on patrol. Felt kinda helpless up there, even with all that firepower at my command.
While in Gio Linh, I worked with a man named "Captain" John Crabtree, Phoenix liaison. Anybody know where he is?
Welcome home....

Hello to you all. My name is Sandra I am trying to help a Vietnam Vet prove his injury while in Vietnam. The accident occurred during a convoy from Saigon, back to ChuChi. He was treated at the 2nd and 49th medical evacuation hospital in ChuChi. He states on his report of medical history taken 11/18/1968 that he had a back injury in May of 1968 while in Vietnam. He was with 94th Maintenance Battalion, and also with 351st Signal Battalion. His name is Mack H. Dixon he was in the Army. If anyone remembers him or the incident in question please e-mail me. Thanks, and God Bless to all.......
