Nice site, thanks. I was incountry 3-67 to 4-68 with 121st Signal Btn at Di An and Lai Khe and am currently in the midst of processing the 40th anniversary of my arrival in RVN, all that happened there, and all that has happened since.
As in the previous comment...I can't believe I got out of Parris Island 39 ....39 years ago. The 2nd Bn. foot prints are still stuck in my feet.

Was at Phu Loi from Mar 69 to Mar 70 with 34th Engineer Battalion. Need to correspond with anyone also there that remembers any of the attacks on the base during that period for PTSD claim

I served from 11/67 to 12/68 at Chu Lai as part of the MAG-12 Civic Action Team. We supported the Dickie Chappelle Medical Clinic and Dong Ha Orphanage and supported many other projects throughout Ky Lien and Tam Ky District.
My Dad Roman Cordero is looking for anybody who was in Charlie Company 1/5 in the Vietnam war. He's a Marine (semper fi) and was in Vietnam in 1968 from Jan-Aug. If you have any information about any one who was in his company it would be so helpful. Also, my Dad, Roman, is looking especially for the family of Ronald Peter Santoro he was from NJ, Lance Corpral (e-3), 19, and died 8/03/1968. Thank you and God Bless

I was in Viet Nam 1966 - 1967 with A co 2/3 199th lib. I went over on the US Sultan Dec 1966. base camp Long bihn. I was WIA Feb 5, 1967 just outside of Long Duc. I was the RTO for the above unit

3rd visit here. Served in country CRB 2/66-10/67. Medic with 12th USAF Hospital. Looking for anyone stationed there then, either at the Hospital or with the 12th TFG. Welcome home all.

Armament & Electronics Squadron June 1968 to June of 69. We were working nights in the Auto Pilot Shop when the base got hit by mortor fire. Happened within 45 Minutes After the Midnight Shift Change. I can't remember what time that was but we had just had Midnight Chow at the Flight Line Chow Hall. I think ours closed after the Evening meal. A group of guys had breakfast before going into work and had made the walk (about a mile) on the street parallel to the revetment area to work at the Autopilot shop Bruce Feldman was left at the Chow Hall. He was one of the guys in the shop and short timing it. He said he was going to take a little more time with his meal and he was going to be late. (It was expected when your time left in country was less than a month.) He was right behind the Tower when the mortor hit. From where he was pick up and the location of the explosion it landed 6 to 8 ft away from him right in the middle of the street which parallels the flight line. At a briefing we were told that he was lucky because It was an old Chinese Mortor left over from WWII. or it would have blown him up. He got shrapnel and had his spleen injured from concussion. We was med-evac'd to Cam Rahn Bay. We had a chance to visit him a week or two Later and he looked jaundiced. I think that he died because I think I found his name on the War Memorial. Sgt Bruce Feldman. I never knew if it was him or not or not. I would like to hear if he did. He was a nice guy. Thanks for the opportunity to tell my story. It was a great experiance with a great bunch of young guys. Sorry the country didn't appreciate the effort or learn anything from it. We were put at risk by a system that didn't tell the truth.They lied to the American People we were given vests and helments in October and Remember receiving weekly security briefings at the chow hall and we were told that unprecidented incursions of North Vietnamese were coming into the country. At the same time people home were being told that we were winning. How could we win when our hands were tied behind our backs??? I now feel bad about the guys who went to Korea before and Desert Storm after. Still pissed at being spit on when I made it home. Sorry

Went to Vietnam in the fall of 1969 as a "green" 2nd LT and AS3 for the the 1/83rd Field Artillery Battalion (part of 24th Corps Artillery).
1/83 was a heavy artillery battalion based at Camp Eagle in General Support of the 101st Airborne Division. 3rd MAF had operational control of I Corps until early 1970 (they gave us intel on some great targets) when 24th Corps took over in early 1970.
Took over as Battery CO of a heavy artillry battery at FB Bastogne in the spring of 1970.
Would love to hear from guys in that area at the same time. It was both the worst and best times of our lives.

I served in Pleiku Vietnam for the USAF from November 1967 to November 1968 yes i was there for TET. What a year! i will cherish my memories for as long as i live. I met some great people from all over the best thing that i have gotten out of it was how everyone lived and how smart the Vietnam People are. Now i am 59 and i run a school bus transportation in long island.
i am the supervisor because i went to vietnam and tried to help do something whatever that was i do not know, but i did my best.
To all the Soldiers that did not make it i say i tried to help i am sorry i could not accomplish what i was set out to do and maybe i did because in 1975 we were out no more deaths due to that Fucked up War. also i wish you were here today, but some day we will meet and then maybe i will find out why did we do that. thanks and GOD Bless!

I am researching any information on the above named Soldier for his little brother who was 2 years old at the time he was KIA (7 March 1966). I know he was assigned to HHC 1st Bn, 35th INF, 3rd BDE, 25th ID possibly as a scout in the Recon PLT as a Section Leader when he was killed by a VC ambush. He was also assigned to HQ Co 2nd Bn, 17th INF in Dec 63 also in Vietnam. Any information would be fantastic, missions; sister units, moral of the 35th, all will paint a picture of what his brothers in arm were going threw at the time.

I was with the 39th base postoffice at cam rahn bay as the ssg. over the insured and registured mail. trying to remember what month we came under attack with the tet offensive. I think it was feb.69. If anyone remembers please e-mail me. would like to chat about it. good luck and health to all who made it back to the world.
Looking for a G.I.buddy that served with me between July 67 thru July 68 with the 8th Engineer Bn. I don`t recall the unit I was with but we left An Khe by convoy and traveled north. His last name is or was Blake. I`m thinking his first name is Donald from North or South Caroline. He was driving a wrecker when a mortar hit in front of his truck and it rolled down a revine killing one and another was trapped under the boom of the truck. Where are you Blake? Or if anyone remembers this incident, please write me. I have pictures of that time together.

I would like to thank all of the Veterans that served in the Vietnam War, May God Continue to Bless you and your families. I am a Veteran myself, I did not serve in a war, but I did serve my country. I was in the US Navy from March 1, 1990, to April 30, 1997, I learned a lot about the Navy, God, and how to better serve my Country. I am a civilian contractor now, but, value and treasure my time served in the US Navy, I would advise any young man or woman 18 and over to serve in the United States Military. I just wanted to share my thoughts, thank you and God Bless.

I'm trying to help my father retain a positive attitude about his military experience in Viet Nam. I know that he was in this hospital but I do not know what years. His name is Melvin Salisbury...he was also in the 6th field hospital...From all the small little bits that I have gotten over the years is this.....
1. First cav..infintry1st and 10th air moble
2. 1st and 22nd field force
3. E1-4
4. Lz's(I have no idea what this is???)
5. Cameron bay...
6. I know that he is owed a Purple Heart and a Bronze star...I need so much help....I would llike to see him at least get his medals before he is gone from me.....If any one could help me out I would really appreciate the help....
