I served in Vietnam from Feb 70 through Feb 71. I was with D Troop 2/1 Cavalry Regiment at LZ Betty in Phan Thiet. I was a grunt there. I am wondering if anyone knows the whereabouts of Major Charles Reese, our CO. He was a helluva guy. Also, I don't remember what my buddy's unit was, but he was a medic at LZ Nancy with an engineer unit. His name was Randy Hopkins. He would have been there from late '69 through late '70. To any and all who knew him, we lost him a few years back to cancer. The Orange got him. If you knew him, you know he was a super guy.

Looking for anyone who remembers this lost solider. I was with B Battery, 5/2 Arty as a gunner on an M42A1 Tank (Duster) at FSB Blue and left there in April 1971 enroute to FSB Lanyard on the Cambodian border where we were ambushed. I lost my whole crew that night this was in Tay Ninh Province. My unit stood down in late 1971 and I was reassigned to A Battery 6/27 Arty as a shooter on an 8" howitzer named the "Alpha's Dealer's of Death." I was at several FSB with the 2nd/11th Armored Cav. Good friends were Pollock, Mr. Guyne, Whittey, Ezy, Beasley, Hensley, Spike, Montoya and Wild William Sands. My nickname was Baby San. I hope to one day find some of these fellow brothers and anyone else who remembers me. Welcome home guys on this veterans Day 2006.
