I landed Incountry on my 21st Birthday ,that was 3/29/70 my Tour of Duty ended on 5/27/71. I remember coming home alone, it was like the world stayed the same but I did'nt, that feeling has never changed, no one will ever know because I won't let it happen. I'm finding out that as each day passes, it is getting harder to hide.
A very good school buddy of mine was KIA with just 3 weeks In Country under his belt. I got the letter telling me he was killed just as I was compeleting AIT.
I have been trying to locate one my buddies that still had time Incountry. There were a group of buddies that had been together for most of my Tour of Duty.It is my wish to locate of them and most likely he would have link to a few more. The guy I am looking for is James F. Hall during our time in Vietnam, his Dad had a Sheep farm in Oregon, possibly close to Eugene or Portland.

I served from June '67 to August '68 with 198th Light Infantry Brigade as a 95B attached to H&HC. We ran convoys up to Tam Ky and down to Guang Ngai, guarded the bridge in An Tan, patrolled the Song Tra Bong, accompanied sweeps to secure contraband, guarded POWs and generally tried to maintain some sense of order to the chaos.

My father was in and out of Indo-China ( Spec Op, here), Canadian, but may have been a volunteer in U.S. Vietnam war, a Canadian Vietnam Vet. He got out in 72 after threats from drug lords against our family here in Canada that apparently swore revenge against our family and possibly other families (in both countries). If this brings memories to anyone of these terrible threats and times and wish to share them for info, please email me. Everything confidential, yes. My father died one year later suspected in gun battle with them in B.C. in 1973. He left behind a wife and 6 children. If you think you may know my father, please contact me. [email protected]

I am looking to find anyone who might have information about my father, Paul G. Wargula, throughout his time at Ton Son Nhut Airbase from 1970 - 1971. He would have been working on the base itself, from what I know he would have been maintaining aircraft, his best friend in training went by the name of "Cubby" and upon discharge he was a SSgt.
I am planning on writing a book about aspects of my father's life, and a significant part of it is consisting of myself taking a trip to Vietnam to try to visualize what he may have seen, thought or experienced, with a comparison between then and now.
He had never really gone into detail, and all I have to draw from are great boxes of memorabilia; pictures, letters, medals, old stars and stripes issues, etc... and details from my Mother's memories.
If anyone can offer any direction or suggestion it would be greatly appreciated... Better yet, if you knew my father, PLEASE contact me... I would be unfathomably interested in speaking with you...
