Dad, a. Jay highfield servers 69-70 shared moms cake with all at hon tre that Christmas they all shared the goodie packages. They had a dog named Mike, German Shepard while out on patrol they found a monkey which livened up the hooch as Sam would ride mike. I found over 200 letters from dad to mom and found thousands of photos which I will digitize... I have a few names and some very horrific details on stories of Saigon, Nha Trang, and the hill, he worked in radios and was a lively character who gave everyone a laugh once because when he was taking his 2 liter shower under the bucket and just got soaped up - Charlie hit, he raced to his hooch grabbed his gun and ammo jacket and joined the patrol, soap and I would say all but apparently that was it besides his weapon. Looking for those who knew dad and stories ssgt at the time Highfield. Thanks [email protected]

USMC 03/67-11/67, Whiskey Battery 2/11; 11/67-5/68 USS Valley Forge, LPH-8, attached to 3/1. To those who served in the Que Son valley, I would suggest a good account to read titled ROAD OF 10,000 PAINS by Otto J. Lehrack. Tells it like it really happened including the truth about the M-16 experimental model that we Marines were given as opposed to the model used by the other services; read it guys!

Did you name your helicopter in Vietnam? Searching for individualized "names" (e.g. Iron Butterfly, Cheap Thrills, etc) that were painted on in-country Army copters, 1962-73. Help me document this often overlooked chapter of our aviation history. Search your in-country photo/slide collections for personalized copter nose art & names. Search your memory & memoirs or query a buddy for his. Thank you gentlemen. Respectfully yours, John Brennan, former SP5, 114 AHC, 1970-71, Vinh Long AAF, Mekong Delta
