Was in Long Binh from Sept. 68 until Sept. 69 Started with the 549th. Spent many days and nights in bunkers around the ammo dump and or on convoy ridding shotgun to all the fire bases we supported. Served with a guy by the name of Eddie Stark, Michael Halterman and many more great Americans. Got to drive for the CO for a short while.
We made the run twice a day to bring all the workers in from Bien Hoa and out to the small hamluts.

My husband, Craig Nelsen, served in 69 & 70 in the 6th armoured calvary in the 1st Aviation Brigade in Saigon Long Binh. He has recently contracted a rapidly progressive dementia, CJD Disease. His memory is no longer good enough to remember too much about actualy events in Vietnam and i am applying for VA Disability. If anyone that served during that time remembers Craig, I would like to visit with you and get to know you better. He worked in the motor pool. Thanks.
