I served with 1/5 Mechanized Infantry Division, Quang Tri. Suffered knee injury and was reassigned to 18th Surgical Hospital, Quang Tri. In country from January '70 to December '70. DoD lost all my active duty records and as far as the VA is concerned I was never in the Army. I do have my official DD214 that shows service in RVN. I need someone that can verify my service during that period. I don't remember names as you recall when we reported for duty we either reported individually or in groups of two or three.

I never met Lt. Bobo but through my long military career I was at many of his dedications. The first time was when the Navy USMC Center was rebuilt in the fall of 1976 on Porter Ave., Buffalo, NY. The next time was at the Vietnam moving wall that was at NCCC in Sanborn NY 7/16/91 and 5/8/01. There are many military clubs and monuments in Niagara County and western NY that honor this great hero. I just realized a few months ago that I happened to be in the same outfit as he was but I was there two years before him 3/9/3 Vietnam in country.
If I ever get to heaven I'm sure I will meet him guarding the streets of gold and he would have my salute.
