USMC Retired @ 60% - Served '66 to '89
RVN Dec '69 - Nov '70
VMA(AW)-225, VMA(AW)-242
Raised in Europe, North Africa & the Middle East. Life in the Marine Corps was primarily in the Pacific. Traveled all my life but will never forget my days in the Corps. Not all roses but pretty fine over all. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Spent 9 years in Europe w/ DoD since retiring. Would I do it all over?? Yep!

I was in the E 2/1 196th LIB in Jan 70 to Oct 70. Stationed out of Hawk Hill and help set up LZ Legionaire. I was one of those green shake and bakes. I wounded in Feb and met Guy Cook from NCO school in the hospital. I think he was from WY and knew Gary Schasfer(called Shakey) from the Recon platoon and would like to hear from them and anyone else from the platoon. I just don't remember many of the names. I have pictures of the platoon, but we may look different now. I then went to Vung Ta to teach English to the Vietnamese soldiers. They knew it better than me. I really like seeing this web site for all of you.

My Brothers were in vietnam. He never boasted about anything. He was a Menominee Indian from Neopit, Wis and his name was Rodney Waupoose He was part of the Tet Offensive. My other Brother was in the marines aduring this time but was was not part of tet offensive but seen combat. I am doing research to find anything about Rodney. Vietnam is a part of history. Rodney has past away with in a few months of being deemd eligible for full benefits. I will never forget him he was a hero to me. When the song "Hello Vietnam" comes on it brings back many many memories of him to our family. Thank you for letting people post comments on your websight. I am putting this websight on as a favorite and I am saving it and will check in periodically. Thank you to all you Vets it is your bravery that keeps America safe and secure.

Want to here from anyone from Loogootee Indiana or near towns in southern Indiana that was in Nam.
Also:
Have left a email message a number of years ago under my old verizon email address. Needless to say I never receive any feed back. I was stationed at Cam Rahn Bay 9/68 to 9/69 at the TMP with the Army. During this time I left a young Lady pregnant(sp), she worked at the TMP, left, and went to work at the base snack bar. She did have the baby but I never did find out what happen to either one. Does anyone know what organization or any other way I can help me investigate this and find out what happen to them. I know a lot of people will be saying how stupid I am for not keeping up with this and I totally agree with you. BUT PLEASE HELP WITH ANY CONSTRUCTIVE INFORMATION POSSIBLE.
