I was in-country for 30 months from July 68 to July 71, with intervals for leave and Stateside assignment totaling 6 months.
Like 6 out of 7 servicemen in SE Asia, I was an REMF serving in "radio research" (Radio Traffic Analyst) with the following units:
8th RRFS, Phu Bai, Aug 68 - Dec 69
407th RRD, Quang Tri, Dec 69 - March 70
365th RRC, An Khe, Aug 70 - Dec 70
2nd DARRS, Quang Ngai, Dec 70 - July 71
Reading the obituary of Vo Nguyen Giap this morning led me meanderingly to this website and moved me to write this post.
Gosh, how long ago all this now appears...and what a different world it was.
