My brother, Keith Wesley Allen, was shot in Binh Duong provence on Oct 13, 1967, suffering "a head wound of such severity as to cause concern." He had been in country for three months, serving less than 1 year of his two-year tour.
Keith died two days later. I was 16; my younger brother Rod was 14. Keith, just two months shy of his birth day, was 19.
My mom told us that his whole company was wiped out. I remember the Army's description that he was hit by sniper fire. My brother told me he was killed in the Tet offensive (wrong time of year).
I've looked at the Wall names and places of other youngsters who were killed the same day and in the same provence, but none match the names on the photo he sent home: Wiley, McCornish, & Shipp. If any of these guys are out there, I would greatly appreciate a correspondence. I want to know that you all are all right.

I was born during the Vietnam War. (1966) I think of those who fought, suffered and sacrificed on all sides each and every day of my life. It is after all... the least I can do. Learn and remember. Always remember...

I was on the USS Clarion River LSMR-409 from 67 to 69. The Clarion had eight rocket launchers that could fire 5 inch rockets as fast as we could load them. We were used for support where ever we were needed which kept us busy almost every day. I would like to hear from anyone who ever served on a LSMR. [email protected]

I really disagree with the fact that the info of the Vietnam War does not include the story of our Hmong people. Just because we didn't have our own country, that doesn't mean that the Vietnamese were the only one involved. We had a secret war going on even and it's still going on 'til this day! They were actually the ones who were killing the Hmong people as hostages. They shouldn't hold any fame towards honors at all. Study the Hmong background before you guys look high upon the Vietnamese. Thanks!

I was at LZ English in Bong Son August 1966 to June 1967. Bird Dogs 21 Tass Forward Air Control, USAF. Four of us lived in the two tents along the runway outer perimeter and parked the birds in front of the sandbag wall that we built.. Spent two days in the bunker while the ammo dump was blowing up. I was in the U.S Air Force(6924th Security Squadron)stationed in Danang from spring of 1970 to spring of 1971.I went to the Sacred Heart Orphanage MANY times and was deeply moved by my visits.I'm currently doing a "research" piece on it (the orphanage) for my own personal reasons and I would like to be contacted by ANYONE who was there, back then, with any kind of interesting thoughts/reflections or whatever.I still miss those kids and I wonder , so many times, of their whereabouts(even though they are adults now)Please send any and all information/pictures etc. of this place.I took many pictures back then , myself, and I still get emotional when I look at them.I would also like to get some information about the nuns who were in charge, back then.I think the order was one from France. This is extremely important to me and I would appreciate any communication at all concerning the orphanage.
Thanks very much and GOD bless you all for your help.

I servied with HHC 11th LIB as a scout/gunner/crewchief at LZ Bronco with Primo Avn. I have read a number of accounts of this action, and that action , and what happened at that time. All I know is what was happening around Me when I was on the ground, wounded , burned, no weapons except a survival knife, being shot at by NVA troops. I remember a lot of thing about that country some good , some not so good, but all have help Me deal with reality of life, I hope that is a comfort to those that have not let go , or will not let go of the worst part of that war.

I want to thank all of you for your courage and you will always have my upmost respect. My father was in Vietnam from 66-67, I am not quite sure all off his info. I am looking for a military ring I think he was given after his service. His name is Timothy Fahey from New York. If any has any information leading me to this ring or knew my dad I would appreciate any help. thanks
