I am an English woman. I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the Veterans. I hate the way a lot of you were treated when you came home. Personally, I'd like to shake the hand of each and every one of you. You are all in my prayers. God bless, and may you all find the peace you deserve. Welcome home.

when i was flying onto Hill 51 on a USMC very (too) slow 34 in May of 1967, i almost fell out the door/hatch, the pilot came down in tight circles, snipers...when i got to delta company, 1/5, the platoon sgt said he was outta there cuz his eardrums were busted the night before, from concussion, and 2 corpsmen were killed also, plus some other guys, when i was @ chu lai the nite b4, we got called outta the rack as a stretcher bearers for wounded marines coming in, the guy i carried was a gunny, i think, throat shot, it sucked BIG time, even bigger when i found out the medivacs were from D 1/5 ... the hill was A SMALL HILL ... no wire, no sandbags, no nothing, only the Gunny bustin' ass to ... whatever, "improve" our position, just a bunch of sweating, pissed off and somewhat scared jarheads ... a lot of guys were sick, thought it may have something 2 do with a well in the vill ... one of the squads sent a fire team down 2 check it out after dark, they found some local lady squatting over the well pissing into it, this is just what i heard, the water quality improved

1st ID Vietnam, 68-70; TDYwith MACV, CMAC, SOG, 1st Cav etc, & various RVN units in III Corp with time in II & IV - I think - didn't always know where they dropped me off. Sometimes they didn't know either. Fortunately it was generally a friendly armed group that tripped over my team. Did so much TDY that my records (what little was left of them) had not a mark on them. The only documents other than my nearly blank 201 file were a couple of pages showing leave and a sheet or two from pay records. The clerk was a bit startled; he said I was virtually invisible to the system. If I wasn't standing right there in front of him he wouldn't have know I had been incountry. Just another day in the life; though I can't prove it.

I am looking for any information on behalf of my father, Frank Anthony Miller or Tony Miller. He served in the Big Red One First Medical Battallion for two terms in Vietnam. He was from Knoxville Tennessee and went to boot camp I believe in Washington? He spoke of one man named Bill Kajawa. If anyone can help me find out the unit, years, service and reasons for medals, Bronze Star, Purple Heart I would greatly appreciate it. Please contact me either by phone or email anytime.

I am the mother of Shreen Marie Loring. Her father Spec 4 Barry Lewis Loring served in Nam . I am trying to locate anyone that knew Barry or served with him while he was there. The years are '70-'72? I am not sure of the years. I know they are about right. Barry was killed in '80 in a motorcycle accident. He served with a man named Dennis { Frenchy} Proulx as I have found pictures on sites with Dennis in them along with Barry. This is for medical for our daughter any info would be apprciated. Thank You in advance for your help. My email address is [email protected]

45th MID located near the Troposcatter at the end of the runway, beyond the 5th Special Forces Group, in Nha Trang. They first came to Vietnam with the cover: USARLE = "United States Army Research and Liaison Element" They were later change to "D" Detachment, of 1st MI Bn (ARS).
I was one of the Interpretation Operations Officers in the unit. I also spent much time interacting with all the major units in the I and II Corps areas. Primarily US, Korean, Vietnamese and others at times that I had worked with in past years.
