I was a medic with the Flight Surgeons Office and assigned to the 632 USAF Dispensary , Binh Thuy AB, Vietnam from August 1967 to August 1968. I was an A1C but was assigned to a flying slot for a Staff Sgt on HH-43 helicopter. I also flews missions primarily on C-123, C-130, AC-47 and C-7A aircraft assisting in med-evacs and also escorting deceased to Tan Son Nut, AB. I also flew one mission on an 02-A Skymaster, spotter plane. The pilot of the 02-A was subsequently shot down at Binh Thuy AB, from enemy fire and the plane was engulfed in flames on landing. Pilot died three days later secondary to 3rd degree burns to about 75% of his body. He died out of country, either in Japan or enroute back to the Sates. His name was Maj. Jerry Smith and I am trying to determine why his name is not listed on the Wall.

Going back to the time of May 1966 to May 1967, I had the good fortune of working with and caring for some great people at 93rd Evac Hospital. I worked on the orthopedic ward. So sad that I can only remember faces but not names. Certainly would be a joy to hear from anyone that worked at 93rd or was a patient there! God is FAITHFUL, if we will only acknowledge Him with our commitment.
