I was born in Nha Trang in 1967. I was adopted when I was 5, into a military family (father -american, mother - Japanese). My name is supposedly Chinese, and my passport states I was in a Chinese neighborhood. I am not 'seriously' thinking it would be possible to find my mother, but I would like to get close to the area.
I am planning my first trip back to Vietnam with my husband. I don't know what resources are out there for assistance (just to know more about the bases where I know my biological mother worked)... My adopted father has limited knowledge, as he was an Naval officer and did not spend a lot of time in Vietnam, except to look for a child to adopt.
Any assistance would be great! Contact me at [email protected]

I am a 41 yr old civilian, born summer 1964, when many Americans at war in Vietnam, watched war every night on our television news, 1970s saw first vietnamese girl in my 5th grade class[learned later teachers were pacifists, and war protesters] My initial feelings for this girl was enemy, and am certain had she been a boy there would be a fight. As the school year went on I became very fond of Christian Nyugen, here sincere sweetness, and her look of friendliness were impossible to ignore, I never sawher again after that school year, but have always remembered her. I will travel to Saigon on Sept 11 2005, the purpose of my trip is soley to honor Americans who went to war for America. I will go there only for your honor. I love you all, you are truely Americas heroes. I have heard that the Viets who helped Americans during the war suffer abuse and are outcasts today. I will hope to find this person and show him American hospitality. I will do this in the name of the Americans who promised to help them. I will wear my Flag, and I will ask if anyone knows about American service men missing in Vietnam, as i have said I am a civilian, I am the baby that you were protecting and fighting for so many years ago..God bless you all, every last one of you

I am very interested to know the whereabouts and contact number of LTC Albert R Perkins. It has been 36 years since I last saw him in Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam. We worked together with MACCORDS. I would just like to know if there is someone here who can give me his whereabouts. I hope I could still get in touch with him.
Thank you.
