I was stationed at Phan Rang AB, S. Vietnam from Aug 1968-April 1969. I was the Operations Clerk with the 352nd TFS (Yellow Jackets). My best 9 months in the USAF was working with pilots of the 352nd. Phan Rang went from being the safest base to one of the most hit while I was there. Will always remember the USS New Jersey firing over the base at Charlie Mountain.

NKP 1965--1955 Was at NKP Nov. 1965 to Feb. 1966 TDY out of Myrtle Beach AFB,SC. I was a radar operator (scope dope). Went to NKP to help get the Radar site operational so that we could help control the Aircraft doing bombing over Vietnam of the Aircraft Carriers in the Gulf of Tonkin. Later found out that they even had a pool (after I left). Our shower water was heated by the sun sitting on a hill in a big tank. Were really some great people to work with on site. Would like very much to hear from anyone who was there at the time I was and might remember me. I am having a problem with the VA proving that I was actually there at the time I was. Anyone who could help would greatly appreciated. Please contact at email [email protected].

I completed a goodwill mission with the Wheelchair Foundation of Danville, CA, in November 2012. Our group distributed 320 wheelchairs throughout Vietnam starting in old Saigon and ending in Haiphong. I would like to participate on a trip with the Vets with a Mission as I believe you are also fulfilling a great need in Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia.

I served as an Air Force Admin Specialist on 2 TDY tours at Tan Son Nhut Airbase with the 315th Air Division Operation Lima Alpha Bravo in June 1967 and December 1967-January 1968 (before TET) so this trip I just made to Vietnam 44 years later was eye opening and it made me want to return to do more to assist the Vietnamese people.
