I feel blessed that I was able to serve two tours with the IFFV. I spent my first tour in Nha Trang with the Signal Section in the Grand Hotel 1966 - 1967. My second tour was with the 2/17th Artillery in Ban Me Thuot 1970 - 1971 where I deactivated the signal unit assigned there. I would be more Happy to find someone that knew me then, I have not found but two in over forty years.

1st MAW, 3rd Mar. Div. Oct '66 to Feb '69. Phu Bai, Da Nang, Chu Lai, Dong Ha, Quang Tri, Khe Sanh & Con Thien. A reflection that we were doing the ?right thing? for being in Nam. I came back home, but I never left Nam! Saw too much, too much to say, too painful to say it. ?All gave some? Some gave all!? I?m very proud to have served in Vietnam. Semper Fi

like to contact anyone that served in a company 52nd signal battalion in Con Tho from aug 68 to aug 69.....I was atelephone repairman and later sent to Saigon for telephone key system training ...sent back to Can Tho and helped install all push button systems in all the headquarters in the city...anyone remembering the Tet offensive of 69 when Can Tho got overrun by VC and we lost 19 gis that night...I was on guard duty...and remember it well...lost our m60 guy.....his head was blown off by a 50 caliber bullet from one of our own towers taken over by vc sappers....communications were shut down and me and buddy Carl Ek were sent to the tower with three grunts to restore communications....after a minor fire fight we killed the VC and I repaired the wires and communications were restored....Ill never forget the smell of flesh gunpowder and the burning helicopters in the distance....

I was in and around Det.2, 30th weather Sqadron in and around Ton Son Nhut, Aug 64-65. My last order from my Squadron NCOIC was to be sure to get my bronze stars. I had to leave in a rush on a crippled c-130, 8 days early or wait another 1 1/2 months for the next seat on a commercial jet. All records of my duties and medical were destroyed.

Would like to hear from the Spec Forces guy that said he'd buy me dinner if I were ever in Indiana (don't remember the city), after we decimated NVA soldiers that were coming up after his butt. He was running up the mountain a little west of Dak To II, in Laos. We flew in early night mission in the AC-130A, put both the 20mm gatlin guns and the 40mm guns on the line and opened up.
