I was stationed in Pleiku and transfered to Phu Bai in 1968-1969. 504th MP HHD was my unit. Prior to Vietnam served with the 92nd MP CO at Ft. Sam Houston, Tx. Was an honor to serve my country no matter what a lot of other people might say about Vietnam.

Hello, I'm an only child from the Vietnam War. My father was in the war and unfortunatley I've never met him. I am now 34 years of age and feel so lost all these years. My mother met my father in Siagon- and since moving out of the country to France- I've no pictures or anything of his belongings. I just wish someday to find out some infor. about my father. All i do know is his name -- Don Johnson . Hopefully someday God will grant me this wish of some knowledge of his existince or death. A picture or anything of his life. I hope to fill this void which has captured me in all of my existance.
Thank you-- Don Cabicq

I recently watched a video on the Vietnam war, and I am currently writing an essay for my class. The video that we watched had me in tears, and I would personally just like to say that each and EVERY one of you are truely heros and will always be remembered for what you did for our country. You do not get the respect and recognition that you all deserve. And I would like to thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart.

On January 20, 1970, I saved a little 9 year old, one-armed, South Vietnamese girl from drowning in the Song Cu De River beneath Nam O Bridge on Highway 1 a few miles north of DaNang, while I was serving in Vietnam as a Marine machine gunner in a CAP Unit in the village of Ap Kim Lien from 15 November 1969 to 30 January 1970; and, I am searching for the little girl who in 2004 would be approximately 44 years old. Summary of Incident: I was riding across Nam O Bridge as a passenger in a USMC jeep; and, directly in front of us, a little one-armed South Vietnamese girl was riding her family's water buffalo across the bridge. Someone blew the horn on their vehicle and the noise frightened the water buffalo which made it sort of jump up and turn quickly in a circle causing the little girl to fall off of the animal into the swollen and turbulent river current beneath the large 5-span steel bridge. I jumped into the river to save her because I was sure that she would drown with only one arm. Approximately 20 or more individuals from various branches of the military Armed Forces pulled us from the river.

Looking for anyone that might have information on my birth father. I am told that he went by the name of Al or Allen and that he had black curly hair. I don't know if he knew my mother was pregnant with me or not.
My mother's name is Le Thi Le and she and my father were supposably very much in love. My mother had two children at the time she became pregnant with me. A boy named Le Van Manh and a daughter named Phung (Gai).
I've been told that my father was a medic and that he was killed in a helicopter crash. I don't know if I believe this, though. My Mother said that she worked in the mess hall and also lived with my father on base. She said that she left to visit her parents and when she returned she was told that he was killed.
I was born in Feb or May of 1969 ( believe it or not, I don't even no for sure when I was Born) and came to the states when I was three years old. My mother married Neal Spencer and he is the man that raised me.
I am looking for anyone that can give me information on my real dad and/or his family. If you know anything please don't hesitate to email me at [email protected]
I'm 35 years old and have been looking for so long. Please help if you can.

My father served in Vietnam,he saw alot of horrors. It changed his life so much, mine too,I never understood why he was the way he was,now I understand.People need to understand how being put into a war changes someone, how it will affects them.in the end everyone suffers....I hope one day, there will be no more war.....its just senseless killing.......it needs to stop......
